This thin layer absorbs heat from the cold refrigerant inside the heat exchanger tube and evaporates into a gas. The cold refrigerant, having lost its heat, is cooled.

The advantages of this design are as follows:

Cold media evaporation occurs on the outside of the heat exchanger tubes, resulting in smaller temperature differences and higher convective coefficients.

The amount of cooling agent required is reduced, which can save costs and be more environmentally friendly.

After evaporation, the cooling agent returns to the compressor; meanwhile, it continuously flows downward and accumulates at the bottom of the evaporator for easier return oil.
